Faithful readers of True North Trout probably wondered where all the posts went this last month. December and January are slow fishing months, and so we took some time away from T|N|T. But we’re back!
Truth be told, the amazing thing is that a month, even in winter, sees much change in the world of Northern Michigan angling. The two big stories we have not covered are both sad. The first is the recent passing of Rusty Gates, owner of Gates Au Sable Lodge and guardian of the Au Sable watershed. The second story is the daily developments on the story of Asian carp and the risks that they pose to the Great Lakes bioregion.
We will have more on both of these stories in the upcoming few days. Tight lines and welcome to 2010!
