Backcast Magazine, a new digital fly fishing periodical, is available for online subscription. This new free digital magazine will be published quarterly by Jim Stenson and Walter Hodges, and the first issue is scheduled to hit your computer screen on August 1st, 2009.
As with Northern Trout, Backcast is seeking contributions from the fly fishing community and notes that because of the unique medium of digital publishing, Backcast can entertain submissions that would not fit the prototype of traditionally-published magazines.
To subscribe to Backcast, simply visit their site at Backcast Online. To preview the look and feel of their digital publication, click here.
Northern Trout is looking for authors, field editors, regular columnists, and others interested in writing on topics related to fly fishing, trout, the environment and conservation, equipment, the rivers of Northern Michigan, and the lifestyle of Midwestern fly angling. We’re interested in all forms of writing — informational, creative nonfiction, poetry, interviews, photo essays, travel pieces, guide or equipment reviews, or really anything that relates to American fly fishing.
If you’re interested in contributing a piece, just contact our editors at admin@northerntrout.com. Also indicate if you’re interested in becoming a regular columnist or a field editor. We’re looking for help on this one!
